Richmond, mark your calendars and/or set your DVR's for PBS at 6 pm, Sunday October 5th.
Mario Batali and Gwyneth Paltrow are taking a road trip full of feasting. This is a 13 part series discovering the rich traditions of Spanish foods called Spain....on the road again.
I'm partic. excited about watching this b/c Mark Bittman (NY Times food columnist and cookbook author) is joining the crew!

I have to admit that this sort of cracks me up. I remember a couple of years ago seeing a pre-Chris Martin, pre-kids interview with Gwyneth on Oprah and she was all about macrobiotic and ate nothing but brown rice and fish with miso glaze and she tried cooking for Oprah and you could tell Oprah was not having ANY of it. And good old Gwen seemed like such a BORING person and all I could think of was that I could never be friends with someone who doesn't know how to EAT and enjoy food. So it cracks me up to think of her now with someone who enjoys food and life and crazy as much as Mario! I'll be checking this out for sure!
Mollie- I'm right there with ya! When I first saw this come out, I was like WTH? She doesn't eat! LOL!
But, she's still a veggie. It will be interesting to see if she really digs in since Spain is such a meat loving country. I for one, could not imagine turning down the ham..............
I read about this in Bon Apetite and was immediately intrigued.
There's now MADE IN SPAIN on WCVE on Saturdays. Juan Andres of Jaleo in DC is the host..
good stuff.
now if we could get more tha one type of jamon serrano in this burg. That place in Williamsburg is higher than a cat's back.
I watched this last night and the folks who were in it were too self absorbed..
The Made in Spain show is more informative with less mugging for the camera..
The young Spanish woman was the most sensible of the four.. and who wants to know if Batali had the gastric heebie-jeebies?
